Favorite Artist
Favorite Artist
My favorite artist would definitely be Vincent Van Gogh. Vincent would be my favorite artist because I grew up on who he was since elementary to high school, I studied Vincent Van Gogh and even republished some of his own paintings in my own way and some even identical. Vincent was born on March 30, 1853, categorized in the post-impressionism era. His most valued painting is Starry night as well as others of Bedroom of Arles, and his self portrait. Van Gogh was mostly influenced by Claude Monet, Paul Cezanne, and Rembrant, these people made Vincent who he was then with his artistry. Vincent Van Gogh had a troubling life he went through various fazes of depression and inappropriate relations with relatives which made him make the paintings he did, he then died on July 29, 1890 but his unique art is still held as a treasure to this century and forever will.

Artist statement
Artist statement:
Some people look at art as a way to create themselves through granite, paints and clay, unlike them, I don't only view art as a way to be creative but a way to express myself , it gives me a chance to see how I feel just by a few brush strokes and sketches of granite across a canvas. Art has been a big part of my life since I was a little one. It first began with my father, he was and still is an amazing artist he taught himself, then my eldest brother followed up, and as soon as I was born and began to experience the different types of art there is I became inspired. I began to take art classes and draw and paint everyday just so I can be as good as my brother. I've asked for help and for them to teach me and they always told me that "there's no way to teach someone to draw you just do it" and that's what I did and I became the person I am today and all it took was inspiration and practice. Practice makes Perfect.
